A message from Theresa Seefried, Registered Social Worker #17240...
Who do I work with?
I offer individual, couples, and family therapy for clients of all ages and genders.
Where do I offer sessions?
Virtual and in-person sessions are available. In-office sessions are available in Vernon and Kelowna, British Columbia. Community-based sessions (including walk-and-talk appointments or meetings in local parks or coffee shops) are offered in Kelowna, Vernon, West Kelowna, Fintry, and Lake Country.
What kinds of counselling do I offer? What topics can we discuss?
I specialize in ADHD and Christian Counselling, but there really aren't many topics that are out of my realm as a mental health clinician and coach.
I love working with clients experiencing emotion dysregulation (including anger management), perfectionism, stress/anxiety/overwhelm, depression, relationship concerns, existential concerns such as questioning one's purpose and strengthening one's faith, and religious trauma.
I am also here for you if you need to process various other emotional concerns including but not limited to... grief and loss, intergenerational trauma, urges to harm yourself, challenges as a student (e.g., middle school, high school, and post-secondary education), self-esteem or self-confidence concerns, intrusive thoughts, forgiving yourself or others, etc.
I'm a huge believer that we are not meant to live life alone. If you feel like you've been living life alone, I'm here for you. Let's live life together. 🤍
What kind of counselling modalities do I use?
As a trained clinical counsellor, I primarily use Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) which helps clients clarify how they want to live and who they need to be to achieve their desired outcomes in life. SFBT supports clients to really understand and embody the version of themself they wish to become. The conversations between the therapist and the client are the intervention with SFBT so that you can leave each session empowered to start acting as your desired version of self!
Knowing that people are unique and can benefit from various therapeutic approaches, I also integrate aspects of various other modalities such as Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) into my work with clients. Due to our individual uniqueness as humans, I am committed to working with you to figure out what you need and how you can get those needs addressed. 🤍
